Class Issues 27/03/09

Erm... I was kind of busy the past few days (chaotic...). I am terribly sorry for not writing a post about some CEC issues earlier. =X Anyway...

Class Decoration

Basically, yeah there is no theme for the Interclass Decoration Competition this year. This then removes restrictions to how we want our classroom to look like/be decorated (which is a good thing xD). The theme agreed upon by the class is origami. This is my plan for the class decoration. Haha do give comments! =)

This is for the notice board beside the whiteboard. Help decide the colour scheme for the background of the notice board. The white lines are strings, with the little dots being cranes, so basically what we do is to string the cranes up together and attach them to the notice board. I plan to have a larger piece of origami (size comparable to that of the crane Darren folded with the chinese newsletter) that goes flat beside the class fund update section. Smaller pieces of origami can go at the space below the class seating arrangement section (or above the 4H photo, or wherever... you can comment haha).


Yeah, this is the notice board at the back. The colour scheme for the background should be suggested by you guys haha, so please comment! Six subjects will be presented on the notice board, and the other three can, as with last year, be allocated a spot demarcated by the boundaries of a piece of vanguard sheet outside of the notice board. Erm... the purple box at the bottom would represent little pieces of origami (pinned flat down of course).

BTW, I drew the plans in Paint. Paint doesn't lag my computer =).

I want this to be a class effort haha. So I would like everyone to contribute to the folding of the cranes. I suggest we have everyone fold something different (animals, boats, cars... haha xD). These folded pieces of art will be signed by yourself and be pinned at the purple area (yah... 32 of them =P). I will tell you more about that soon. First, do comment on the plan for the notice board.

One more thing. I would like all academic subject reps (RP reps if applicable) to create a logo which will be pasted at the top of the areas allocated to that subject at the notice board. I will tell all more about this later.

Now I will go on to the decoration of the other parts of the classroom. I suggest that we have also large pieces of origami that we can paste (blu-tack) onto the walls of the classroom. Would you rather posters or pictures instead? Again please do comment. Would you also like strings of origami dangling from the ceiling? Yah again comment =).

That is all. So here is the timeline for the class decoration. I plan to get it done in 3 weeks time. So by next week [Wednesday interaction time] we will finalize all the details for the class decoration plan. Yeah, with the class fund I (with the rest of the CEC or some of you guys xD) will go down to Popular to get the materials we need [by Friday]. Yah on Wednesday we will tell all of you what to fold too.

On Friday after school we will stay back to decorate the class. Some people will be in-charge of stapling the coloured pieces of paper onto the notice board (background). At the same time, people will string up the cranes and other origami pieces and pin them to the notice board. I suggest we start the class deco at 2 pm that day. I will print (and possibly laminate) the timetable, seating arrangement plan and duty roster. The decoration of the notice boards should take about 1 hour. Yah, do inform me if you are unable to make it on Friday. Email me to confirm your attendance haha xD.

I will schedule in another day for class deco the following week. During that session, we will decorate the rest of the class. Details for this will be released at a later date.

Class T-shirt
Yah, so the latest design of the T-shirt is as follows (with courtesy from Clement! =D):

Is everyone agreeable to this design? Yeah do comment. If the class decides for a change in the design, could Clement kindly make the necessary changes? Thanks so much! =)

I think if we decide for Clement's design, we can have you choose what coloured T-shirt you want (pink base or white base). Like our new PE-shirt haha (green or white base). What do you think? =P We will decide on the material for the shirt later. I will check with the supplier and get back to you (price, material, colour of fabric etc). Of course, that is after the design is finalized and all haha xD.

Inter-Class Competition
Yeah, I was briefed about this during CEC training. Basically, this year there will be inter-class competitions for soccer, basketball and computer games (all of which we will win right? =P). There will be an inter-class academic competition as well. When news about these events are released, I will get back to all of you. =)

Class Duty Roster
Teachers (coughdrchionhcough) have complained about the cleanliness of the classroom. I personally think that yeah the classroom is kind of dirty. We'd rather a cleaner environment for study right? So yeah I will come up with a Class Duty Roster. I have yet to design it. I will post it on the blog and paste a copy on the notice board once I am done (which is never lol... no lah joking haha xD).

Miscellaneous
Do remember to top up your EZ-link card (minimum 5 dollars). Bring your EZ-link cards to school on Monday. Your EZ-link cards will be collected and a new one will be issued to you on the same day. I will remember to collect it. Remind me haha xD.

Yah and I will take pictures of all of you on Monday. I need pictures for the class seating arrangement thingie. I will bring my camera on Monday, so I capture pictures of you with your tie on haha xD. Anyway, I want this to be special. Give any expression you want for the picture (cover your mouth, close your eyes or stick out your tongue et cetera). Yah so it is your picture up there, you decide how you wan to look like in the picture. Don't cover your eyes/face with your hands though - you won't be really recognizable in that case haha.

Last day

haha guys today is the last day, to chiong out work that we have not finished yet. omg sigh this is sad. everytime last minute chiong

but anyways this holiday hopefully allowed us a little bit of a breather! haha before we plunge back into our monotonous school life again.

so STD on week 2, are we going to wenjun's house/ someone volunteer his house hahaha. even though there might be work but a little play is no harm hahaha

Teehee!

I have made a few changes to the blog. Kinda slipshod (rushed through the design cause I have homework yet to complete hahas xD). The pictures for the header picture is 'koped' from Benjamin (Goh)'s Facebook Album (must give credit yeah). Do make your comments on the tagboard yeah. I will add a "homework" section to the blog which (hopefully *crosses fingers*) will be constantly updated. I will add a photo roll showing pictures taken in and out of the classroom. Will update all of you on this later (yeah, sending of your pictures to me or something xP).

hey all

whee seems like I’m the second guy to write on this thing.

and as followers of my own blog can attest, I have this horrible tendency to ramble XD.

but let’s keep this short for now: let’s just say that hopefully this blog remains alive. at least until next term XD.

so anyway although I do have many issues with the skin/font choice well we ought thank ben for actually GETTING this thing set up in the first place. XD

so anyway once we’re all done with our holiday homework - and perhaps when more people join this blog and start posting we could get the CEP people say ian to come up with a new skin.
